8- خطوط تلفن سیمی و مخابرات بی سیم در هم ادغام خواهد شد و در سال 2020 دیگر تلفن سیمی کاملا یک ارتباط سنتی شبیه تلگراف امروزی خواهد شد.
هم اکنون نیز تعداد خطوط مخابراتی بی سیم از خطوط سیمی فراتر رفته است.
7- محدوده های مخابراتی از بین خواهد رشد. شبکه های مخابراتی مبتنی بر IP مرز جغرافیایی مخابراتی را بی مفهوم می کند. دیگر تماس تلفن با همسایه بقلی یا تماس با دوستی در آفریقا تفاوتی نخواهد داشت.این امر با توسعه پهنای باند تحقق خواهد یافت.
6- مشارکت الکترونکی و کار از روی اینترنت، مفهوم دفاتر فیزیکی را از بین خواهد برد.
5- شبکه های مبتنی بر سنسور توسعه خواهند یافت. IPv6 در همه جا به کار گرفته خواهد شد. به عنوان مثال شما برای تنظیم قسمت های مختلف اتوموبیل به آدرس IP آنها نیاز پیدا خواهید کرد.
4- پهنای باند بی سیم بطور متوسط رشد بالایی پیدا خواهد کرد. طبق قانون مور، در سال 2010 متوسط 40 مگابیت بر ثانیه پهنای باند بی سیم خواهیم داشت (دقت کنید متوسط جهانی منظور است) و در سال 2020 یک گیگابیت بر ثانیه.
3- همگرایی بین نرم افزارهای کاربردی و بخش مخابراتی ایجاد خواهد شد. دیگر شبکه شما همان کامپیوتر شماست. عمده عملیات بر روی لبه های صورت خواهد گرفت. (کمی فنی ترجمه شده است . فکر کنم دوستان شبکه ای بهتر متوجه خواهند شد.)
2- امنیت امری مهم خواهد بود. زیرساختهای قوی تری نیاز داریم. در آینده هر 5 ثانیه یک ویروس به شما حمله خواهد کرد.
1- در طی 10 تا 15 سال (تا سال 2020) IP همه چیز تحت سیطره خود در می آورد. دیگر همه نرم افزارها و سیستمها توسط IP با یکدیگر گفتگو می کنند.
سه پیش بینی جالب دیگر:
تا سال 2010، شبکه های کامپیوتری به قدری هوشمند خواهند شد که خودشان علاوه بر تشخیص معایب، به رفع آنها خواهند پرداخت و نظارت دقیقه به دقیقه مدیران شبکه را نیاز ندارند. رادیوهای هوشمند بوجود خواهند آمد که دیگر FCC نیاز نیست بر روی اسپکتروم باند فرکانسی نظارت کند.
تا سال 2015: شبکه های کامپیوتری از حالت سخت افزاری به سمت نرم افزاری پیشروی خواهند کرد. کاملا قابل تنظیم و در دسترس
تا سال 2020: آخرین شماره تلفن سیمی ، بازنشسته خواهد شد چون همه چیز بی سیم خواهد شد.
